Cobourg’s Festival of The Arts

Screenshot (12)Four years now, I have been a part of a local art association called Spirit of the Hills (SOTH). During this time I have had opportunities to show my work at our local hospital, the Campbellford Library, the Colborne Art Gallery, the Cobourg Art Walk and Pub Crawl, and the Cobourg Waterfront Festival. I have my own profile on their website (Jennifer Anne Burke), and what I love about this organization is it’s not just for visual artists but also writers, performers, musicians and a realm of local artisans. If you are a Northumberland artist looking for more opportunities in the community, this is an affordable annual membership that is worth the investment in your artistic career.

What I did not know, was SOTH is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary this year! You can come celebrate with us at this year’s “Festival of the Arts” in Cobourg. This three day event includes book launches, readings, workshops, visual art for show/sale, and you can meet and work directly with the writers and artists and performers! Entry is free, but Saturday workshops are $25 each. This inspiring festival is open to all, come check us out. Support the arts, and support local!

All events are taking place at St.Peter’s Church, 240 College St, October 24-26, 2019.

Yogini since I was 17. Certified yoga instructor since I was 24. Totaling over 20 years of experience. Thousands of hours of practice, teaching, learning, sharing, loving, growing. I believe yoga needs to be made accessible to all people, even if that means simply practicing breath work. My business is named "The Gentle Way of Hatha" because from my personal experience it is the gentle practice that has been the most liberating, and what I wish to share with others. The essence of yoga: inner peace. Finding your calm in the chaos of life. Artist my whole life. Failed OCAD (well I didn't really give it a chance, I dropped out after one semester). Continue to create regardless. Check out to view my work. I love to travel, and hope to make it to Iceland in 2020 for an art adventure.
