I finally broke through my art-funk last week, when I had a night alone and decided to work in the oil paints I’ve avoided forever. I used some of my most simple beach photographs and applied that simplicity to the paintings:
I finished two acrylics from my Ontario collection, and continue to work on my “Iceland” landscapes, all of the pieces are finally coming together in a way that pleases me.
This whole journey has me weening away from acrylics, with the intention to move primarily into oil painting. This is something I have been wanting to do for a very long time, but did not have the space, patience, or ventilation. With weather improving I can open windows, and I have re-organized space to accommodate these new projects in a clean and safe way. With that being said… stay tuned for the next big project: 8 new Canadian Landscapes in oils, on birchwood gallery canvas. The canvases are already prepped and waiting!
